Gandeuillot and other cooked meats

Luxeuil ham is the pride of Luxeuil, but Fougerolles is not to be outdone with other delicious recipes!

Gandeuillot is a typical product of the southern Vosges: it combines pork meat (like sausage) and tripe (like andouille), a hybrid speciality that has everyone in agreement! Of course, the recipe also includes a dash of Kirsch AOC!

It's impossible to miss our neighbours' speciality: Andouille du Val d'Ajol, which is celebrated every year on the 3rd Monday in February, and the weekend before.

Say Cheese !

Munster AOC

Who said that Munster cheese was exclusive to the Vosges and Alsace?

The Munster AOC production area actually covers 7 départements, as far as Haute-Saône and Territoire de Belfort. An AOC recognised as far back as 1969!

In our tourist region, Munster is produced at Saint-Bresson at the Menigoz farm, where almost 300 cheeses pass through the hands of the cheese-makers every day.

Do you know the cumin version? This is the only authorised variant for making Munster cheese. Cold or hot, it can be enjoyed in a thousand different ways. What's your favourite?

Meet the green fairy...

Absinthe, the other brandy from the Southern Vosges

Refreshing and mysterious, absinthe comes in a hundred different recipes, each distiller adding his own touch and secrets. A magical blend of distillates for flavour and infusions for colour, the absinthe is intriguing and is drunk in a very special ritual.

In 1914, 55 000 hectolitres of absinthe were produced in Fougerolles. Since 16 March 1915, when absinthe was banned, many aniseed-flavoured drinks have been produced.

Plombières Icecream
Teddy Verneuil

In Fougerolles, the GAEC Aubry makes the most of the milk from its cows reared organically to create delicious ice creams. From the most classic of flavours to the most original, these home-made ice creams can be enjoyed as a dessert at the table or in a cone at Luxeuil's summer night markets.

Do you know Plombières ice cream? This special flavour, made from vanilla ice cream flavoured with Kirsch and candied fruit, was mentioned by Honoré de Balzac in "Splendeurs et misères des courtisanes".

Le "trésor des Ballons"
Marie Soehnlen

Created to promote the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park, Trésor des Ballons is sold in Haut-Rhin, Territoire de Belfort and Vosges, as well as in Luxeuil!

You can order this delicious blueberry financier to take with you on a hike in front of a beautiful landscape, or to enjoy at home with family or friends, from Denis Platte (Fougerolles), Esprit Chocolat (Luxeuil) or Le fournil Lupéen (Saint-Loup-sur-Semouse).

Saint-Colomban's sun
Pâtisserie Drouhet

In Luxeuil-les-Bains, confectioners and chocolate makers are working hard to create delicacies that are typical of the region. Drouhet was inspired by the bronze suns that symbolise Luxeuil's heritage trail to create the Soleil de Saint-Colomban. For the cake, the flavours are inspired by what the saint might have found along the way: blueberries and hazelnuts come together in this comforting sweet treat!

Luxeuil's croquants
