Marc Lavoine owes a great deal to the stage, a place of intense cross-fertilisation:
"When I recently worked with Krisy [a Belgian rapper],
I felt a new breath of fresh air, just as I did when, before that,
I've acted in the theatre, for example in Le Poisson Belge by
Léonore Confino, or in films for Claude Chabrol or Tony
Gatliff. All of them know how to be timeless. And with each one,
I've gained in freedom, as I've grown in the courage to be myself.
"I've always taken the outlines to get to the centre", says the man who exploded on the silver screen.
who exploded onto the French pop music scene at the age of
pop market at the age of 23, in 1985, with Elle a les yeux révolvers
and Parking des Anges. "People didn't take me seriously, but
Françoise Hardy sent me a nice note". Together, they
duet, Chère amie, released in 1989 and written by their long-time
Fabrice Aboulker.
There have also been some magnificent duets, with Catherine Ringer and
Véronique Sanson. There have also been equally intense companionships
with Daniel Darc, for example.
And since we're in Lavoine territory, the theme of love
emerges coherently in several songs. Marc
Lavoine knows how to play on the breaks, the slides, those of the voice
voice, in contrast to the winds of Ushant and the fickle sands of the
the fickle sands of love...
When I was a child," confesses Marc Lavoine, "I felt bad about my body.
I wanted to be a cat. I wanted to be a cat".
