Courgette is an adaptation of Gilles Paris's book Autobiographie d'une courgette. After a "life accident", Icare, known as Courgette, a 10-year-old boy, arrives at a home for skinned children, where everyone is waiting for a possible adoption.
There he discovers a whole new world and, above all, some endearing companions: Simon, Ahmed and Camille (the formidable Vanessa Cailhol, winner of the Molière for best actress in a public theatre production). And then there's Raymond, the bearer of both bad news and hope.
The life force of these kids, who we wouldn't put a price on, is a real deterrent to the most pessimistic, and it's full of the light and music that fill this show that we come away with a heart full of hope.
