Circuit à la découverte de Fontaine
Founded by the first Christian missionaries from Ireland, Fontaine-lès-Luxeuil has preserved the memory of time in the stones of its built heritage.
These pieces of history can be discovered along this walking trail, which is marked out by reading tables. As you read them, you'll discover elements of the history of our heritage, the specific features of the local flora and fauna, and some of the events that have taken place in the municipality.
Start behind the multi-purpose hall, cross the stream and reach Rue Tyrol. Turn right, pass the cemetery and then turn left. At the junction, turn right and then left, continuing towards La Tuilerie. At the roundabout, turn right onto a small road and continue along a track to the edge of the wood.
Continue straight through the forest on a wide track. Then climb a path which joins a track that you follow to the left until you reach a large square. From here, you can take the alternative route to shorten the distance.
Take the path opposite and follow it downhill for 350 m. At the junction, follow a small path to the left. Go straight on for 1.5 km and join a white path heading towards l'Ermitage.
At the intersection with l'Ermitage, continue straight on (on the right you can go back and forth to the Beuchot district). Drive past La Logeotte until you reach the D304. Turn left and climb the embankment to be on the safe side. Continue along the forest edge. Turn left into the main driveway and right at the end. At the junction, turn right to go back down into the village via Rue du Mont.
Turn right onto the D304. Follow the road on your left for 300 m, then turn right towards the old Tacot railway line. Turn left to reach the communal pond and continue until you reach the D 964. Cross the road to reach the rue des Tulipes and the multi-purpose hall.
