At the invitation of the municipal library, come and meet Philippe Gastel, who will be presenting his novel: Septième convoi pour l'Algérie:
For several centuries, members of his family have been born, lived and died in Luxeuil, but the destiny of young Anastase Gastel takes a different direction. Based on real events and characters, the novel sheds light on little-known aspects of great historical figures such as Napoleon III, Gambetta and Jules Ferry. It also echoes the debates of the time on the legitimacy and methods of colonisation, resonating strikingly with our contemporary questions....
