Axel is young, Alexis was. Their meeting is an obvious choice.
Axel, while aspiring to sing Alexis's songs, is convinced that he is the frustrated twin of a young American actor.
Alexis, for her part, finds her alter ego in Axel and works on writing a song about this chimerical twinning.
Songs, exchanges and troubling coincidences unfold around a piano.
Recalling episodes from their lives, the two friends become entangled and untangled.
But shadows lurk, and ecstasy and downfall go hand in hand.
