Château Gaillard
Family estate of 14 ha with a cellar dating from 1987.
Production of Beaujolais Villages, Fleurie and Morgon. Several cuvées of Morgon: generic, 1897 and vieilles vignes, some of which are a hundred years old. The average age of the vines is around 60 years, and some plots are renewed to change the cultivation method. The estate has been HVE 3 certified since 2019, with the aim of preserving health and the environment.
The grapes are hand-picked, sorted and transported to the winery, where they are sorted again. Semi-carbonic fermentation is followed by pneumatic pressing after 10 to 20 days of maceration. The wine is matured in wooden casks for 6 to 12 months to achieve the best harmony.
These wines are very typical of the region and of the Gamay grape variety: fruity (blackberry, blackcurrant, etc.) with supple, mellow tannins that express their full potential with a long finish. These wines are easy to drink and can be enjoyed as an aperitif or with a wide range of dishes (salad, white meat, fish, cheese).
