Mémoires de pierres

The "mémoires de pierres" exhibition plunges us into the relationship between the living and the dead over the course of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. The different traditions involved in funeral rites, costumes, flowers, transport, the shape of burials and statuary provide us with information about the economic, social and cultural evolution of a region. Documents, stone and cast-iron objects, ceramics, beads and dresses will mark these developments in eastern France, and more specifically in Luxeuil and the surrounding area.
