Château de Raousset
Château de Raousset is in the lower part of the commune, between the villages of Villié Morgon and Fleurie.
The property is part of a vast estate that covers 65 hectares, 35 of which are planted with vines spread over 3 appellations; the Beaujolais Crus of Chiroubles, Fleurie and Morgon, the grapes from which are vinified on the estate
Most of them are worked by five share-cropping families some of whom have links with the Château going back over five generations.
Nearly all the estate is planted with the Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc grape variety in granitic soil that includes more or less clay depending on the appellation. The appellation of Morgon having the richest soil.Since relatively recently part of the estate has been planted with Chardonnay to make White Beaujolais, 20 years ago we were already making this kind of wine.
